I know that FIAT is recognised the world over as one the leading and famous car manufacturers and I am proud that we are acknowledged as specialists in servicing and maintaining their vehicles.

Here are some interesting facts about the company and their cars:

1. FIAT stands for Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino and the company was founded in Turin in 1899 by a group of investors led by Giovanni Agnelli. The word ‘fiat’ also means ‘so be it’ in Latin and the company is still controlled by the Agnelli family today.

2. In 1910 FIAT started to expand into foreign markets. The year before it had opened its first production facility on American soil in New York. It was now that it also began exporting vehicles to profitable foreign markets such as Great Britain, France, Russia and Australia.

It is with deep regret that the 2018 World Cup is currently taking place without the presence of the Azzurri, the Italian national football team, as they failed to qualify.

However, it is quite feasible for Alfa Romeo owners to transfer their allegiance to another national team for the duration of the competition – that of Spain!

How so, I hear you ask? It is simply because Alfa have a long history of sponsoring top teams in La Liga. Over the years they have sponsored famous club sides such as Atletico Madrid, Real Betis and Valencia.

I see the latest Mille Miglia was held in May and Alfa continued to triumph, as it has over the past 90 years, by taking every place on the podium.

The Mille Miglia 2018 was won by the Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 GS Fixed Head, operated by the Tonconogy-Ruffini crew.

I have recently seen the latest newsletter from the Cotswold section of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club. Included are a number of dates that local Alfa owners might be interested in attending:
